Safety & Training

The energy efficiency specialists of the Heat & Frost Insulators receive a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction that is unmatched in the industry. Each professional spends a minimum of four years in the classroom, studying applicable math, blueprint interpretation, application techniques, pattern layout, workplace safety and supervision.They are also committed to the continuing education of their journeymen and train them yearly on the latest industry applications.

When it comes to dedication to training and safety, the numbers speak for themselves:

  • Each year, an average of 185 apprentices participate in the Heat & Frost Insulators/Local 17 apprenticeship program.
  • Each year, the Heat & Frost Insulators/Local 17 train an average of 125 Hazardous Waste Handlers & Firestoppers.
  • Over the past ten years, more than 1,500 workers have received OSHA training.
  • Each year, about 125 journeymen receive ongoing training on the latest techniques and standards.
